XRD pattern of untreated ruby and MW-treated ruby at 1500 °C
Natural ruby (in the form of gemstone) collected from Odisha has been heat-treated by microwave (MW). A 3-kW industrial MW furnace with SiC susceptors was used for the heat treatment.

XRD patterns (Cu K˛) of rubies and sapphires. I, Indian ruby ...
Natural and synthetic gem rubies can be separated on the basis of their trace-element chemistry as determined by energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometry.

Dec 1, 2020 · X-ray diffraction (XRD) study reveals that natural rubies contain α-Al 2 O 3 as the major phase. On the other hand, XRD does not show sharp peak for imitation ruby stone, therefore it indicates that the imitation rubies are made of amorphous material (glass).
Purple coloured natural ruby has been studied by surface sensitive tool like XPS supported by XRD, X-ray tomography (micro CT), FESEM, TEM and EDS. While XPS and EDS established the presence of transitional elements like Cr, Fe, Ti, the phases, morphologies and microstructures were studied by XRD, FESEM and TEM.
X-ray diffraction of ruby (Al2O3:Cr3+) to 175 GPa - ScienceDirect
May 1, 1988 · Compression data for ruby (Al 2 O 3, ≈ 0.05% Cr +3) have been obtained by energy-dispersive X-ray scattering in a diamond-anvil cell to 175 GPa (1.75 Mbar) at room temperature.
High pressure single crystal X-ray diffraction study on ruby up to …
Jun 1, 1999 · The high pressure behavior of ruby (α -Al 2 O 3 doped with Cr 3+) was investigated to pressures up to 31 GPa. Whereas data on compressibility has been obtained at pressures up to 175 GPa, no structure determination exists above 9 GPa.

Oct 1, 2022 · We study the correlation between the structural orientation and the chromatic characteristics in rubies by combining X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The chemical compositions were investigated by X-ray fluorescence (XRF).
