5. Rover Vigil and Investiture Ceremony. The two most important ceremonies in a Rover‘s life are the Vigil and the Investiture Ceremony - the formal acceptance of an Aspirant to become a Full - fledged Rover.

The Vigil is more effective and special if it is kept mostly secret. The Vigil comes at the end of the period of Squireship. Potential Rovers should not be invested until they are quite sure that they are honestly ready.

The vigil is an intensely private and personal thing, and should be conducted in a quiet, secluded place where privacy is assured. Most vigils are conducted outdoors or in a church. To help a Rover or Rover Advisor through the vigil, questions have been passed down over the years.
