Apr 17, 2012 · Presumably if you are on about the Rover 75 with the bmw engine its a 2.0 diesel. It is the petrol k series engine that has the head gasket issues so dont worry about them but this engine does have problems of its own such as faulty turbos. Generally not too bad a car, a bit (old man-ish) but actually quite a nice interior.

Nov 5, 2012 · This Rover uses a K series engine and headgasket problems are almost inevitable at some point during the engines life due to poor design of the cooling system. You do not say what size the engine is on the model that you are considering but 1.8 engine is particularly troublesome in this respect.
