The rostrum (ram) was discovered on the seabed on Augustus 27th, 2024. It actually had a Montefortino type Roman helmet stuck to it, which would certainly have been from the actual naval battle. To have the helmet adhered to the ram, an unfortunate Roman marine would have drowned as his body was trapped under the ram.
