The River Rase is a 16-mile-long tributary of the River Ancholme that flows through the Lindsey part of Lincolnshire. The source of the river is a series of springs known as Churn Water Heads, that occur on Bully Hill north of Tealby in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The River Rase flows downstream from Churn Water Heads through Tealby towards Market Rasen. In the past the River Rase was used to power many mills along it’s route. This site was once a Hovis mill and the channel was diverted to power the water wheel.

The route runs for over 70 miles and visits nearby Willingham Woods and Market Rasen. Head a few miles to the south east and you could visit the worthy village of Donington on Bain. Here you'll find a 12th century church, a fine 18th century pub and nice views of the River Bain.

Jan 14, 2012 · Nestling in the western lee of the Lincolnshire Wolds, you will find Tealby. Stone cottages sit astride the tumbling upper reaches of the River Rase, in this village which many will tell you is the prettiest in Lincolnshire and few would argue.
