Ricardo Tormo Blaya (7 September 1952 – 27 December 1998) was a Spanish professional motorcycle road racer. He competed in Grand Prix motorcycle racing from 1973 to 1984, most prominently as a two-time 50cc world champion riding Bultaco motorcycles.

During his career, Ricardo Tormo competed in 62 Grand Prix of the Motorcycle World Championship, in which he achieved 19 victories, 36 podiums, 23 pole positions and four fastest laps.

The circuit is named in honour of Ricardo Tormo, the two-time 50cc Motorcycle World Champion whose promising career was cut short by a horrific testing accident in 1984.
