Jan 22, 2008 · Internal safeties in hand ejector revolvers are disabled when the trigger is held back, and also in most automatic pistols. Manual safeties and decocking levers in some pistols still work while the hammer is being lowered - if they are engaged.

Jun 8, 2010 · If the revolver is dropped while the hammer is cocked the jar may cause the trigger to release it. But unless something holds the trigger in its rearward position it will follow the hammer down, and by the time the hammer goes all of the way both safeties will be in place to prevent an accidental discharge.

Feb 15, 2007 · A hardware solution (cominoli safety) for a software problem (safe gun handling skills) just doesn't work. Right now something ike 70% of US law enforcement is carrying or authorized to carry a glock. I don't know of any of those depts having cominoli safeties installed.
