Revelstoke Dam, also known as Revelstoke Canyon Dam, is a hydroelectric dam (combined earthfill dam and gravity dam) spanning the Columbia River, 5 km (3.1 mi) north of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada.

Jun 23, 2022 · The Revelstoke Dam is a commanding tourist attraction. It also has some good performances! It’s one of BC’s most powerful dams, standing 175m tall and covering 155km2.

Mar 26, 2025 · A major hydroelectric project with significant economic spinoffs for the Revelstoke economy has been quietly dropped by BC Hydro. BC Hydro now says Revelstoke Unit 6, which would have put a generator into the sixth and final empty turbine bay in Revelstoke Dam, is postponed indefinitely.

The project involves work at Revelstoke Dam to install the sixth unit and construction of a new capacitor station near Summerland to deliver the additional power to the grid.

We are now closed for the fall and winter, reopening spring 2025.
