Oct 28, 2011 · Hi guys. Last week I changed clutch/brake fluid in prep for my trip to Crockett for the m&g and then to Lafayette, La. Long story short my clutch started slipping and when I checked the clutch fluid it was empty. Added fluid and rode back to home. Any body rebuild the reservoir or is it just better to buy entire unit.

Apr 25, 2007 · Under the chrome side cover you'll see a bleeder. Open it until the reservoir is almost empty. Close the bleeder and fill the reservoir with Vlavoline Synpower DOT 4 fluid. Re-open the bleeder and keep filling the reservoir until fluid comes out clear down below. Close the bleeder and make sure fluid level is at the line inside the reservoir.

May 20, 2009 · Keep an eye on the reservoir level, do not let it drop enough to expose the inlet. Once the old is purged, all you need to do is to put the float board back on top of the fluid in the reservoir and add enough fluid to float that board up to the full line; replace the rubber expasion seal and then the cover with screws.

Apr 25, 2023 · As far as burping the system after emptying/refilling the reservoir, I would say you probably wont have to burp the system If you don't introduce air into the main system then you shouldn't have to burp air out of it. The tank is only connected to the motor by a small line running from the radiator cap/filler neck. (on my early bike)

Sep 9, 2004 · I did an oil change on my 18 this weekend and I noticed that the coolant reservoir seems "exposed." Is this an issue that I need to keep an eye on? It seems to me that a rock or a speed bump could punch a hole in that little bugger.
