Jan 21, 2013 · For comparison, here is a real unmarked Reising sling at the top, and a Carbine sling at the bottom. The top sling is 1" wide webbing very much like all WW2 straps are made. The USMC marked sling is thin in comparison, but still much like the carbine sling in thickness.

May 25, 2010 · There are several WWII era pictures showing the Reising with the smaller, M1 Carbine style sling, with the 4" space between the snap hardware, specifically requested by the Marines for the Reising. If you have a copy of "Grunt Gear," by Alec Tulkoff, you can see a Marine Raider training photo from 1943 that clearly shows one.

Jul 2, 2011 · There has been a discusion on the jouster board about Reising slings. I just realized the sling I got on the Reising M65 from the Jeff Reising estate was a Reising light green sling. It has the same spacing between the lift-a-dot as the Kacki slings I have.

Aug 30, 2008 · A sling designed specifically for the Reising came into service with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943. It is a mustard colored sling that looks like an M1 Carbine sling, but is marked "U.S.M.C." and "Boyt -43-" close to the lift-the-dot snap.

At some point in 1943 it is believed the Marine Corps contracted with Boyt for the manufacture of a new Reising sling which had the closures set apart at 4 inches. Problems with these slings brought about their examination by the MCEB.

The .45 Reising submachine gun was manufactured by Harrington & Richardson (H&R) Arms Company in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, and was designed and patented by Eugene Reising in 1940. The three versions of the weapon were the Model 50, the folding stock Model 55, and the semiautomatic Model 60 rifle. [4]

Ok, here is a Nice one, I bought this USMC BOYT 43 Sling years ago for my Reising Rifle, as the longer upper fold over tab would be correct for the Reising Rifle. Later I obtained a correct leather sling and set this aside, so time to sell. Marked “Kikit Pull” on tab, and is a full 40” long.
