Sep 5, 2011 · Simple answer: Red was worn by officers, green by enlisted. Copran is correct in that the insignia was worn on the right side. I proudly wore this beret (with green) from Feb. '68 to Jan. '70 with the Third Coastal Zone Advisory Group headquartered out of Cat Lo.

Jan 13, 2007 · The first medal (badge) that I'd like to share is a Department Commander's badge. The department commander's rank is shown on the hanger. This one is a bit unusual. Instead of having the normal US Flag ribbon with red edges, it has a ribbon in the colors of the Spanish flag hand-sewn in its place.

Apr 5, 2017 · What's the meaning of the red triangle on the helmet? I can't find this pictured in any of my reference books. There is similar sized black triangle with a dot in the middle on his musette bag. A white triangle was used for anti-tank and anti-aircraft units within the 82nd. Could it be for an anti-tank/aircraft unit? The helmet is an M1C. Mark D.
