The Red Forest (Ukrainian: Рудий ліс, romanized: Rudyi Lis, Russian: Рыжий лес, romanized: Ryzhiy Les, lit. ' ginger-colour forest ') is the ten-square-kilometre (4 sq mi) area surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant within the Exclusion Zone, located in Polesia.

The experimental site is known as Jengka Virgin Jungle Reserve (Jengka VJR), Jengka 18, Pahang (03° 34.99′ N, 102° 34.29′ E) located at 50-90 m a.s.l. with slope ranging from 2-8 degrees on a flat terrain. Portions of the Jengka VJR were logged once between 1968 and 1969.

The Jengka Field Station was established in 1982 and maintained to date as FRIM's sub station for research and development of sustainable management of the Dipterocarp Hill forest research. The station is located between cocoa and oil palm plantations and selectively logged, undulating lowland to hill dipterocarp forests.
