Yeshaya Steiner (Yiddish: ישעיה שטיינער; known as Reb Shaya'la of Kerestir (Kerestirer); Yiddish: ר' ישעיה'לה קערעסטירער‏) (1851 – 27 April 1925), was a Rebbe in the town of Bodrogkeresztúr (Kerestir) near Miskolc in Hungary.

Ravl’Hoshia is dedicated to carrying on the legacy of the saintly Tzadik Reb Yeshaya Steiner of Kerestirzt”l, affectionately known as Reb Shaya’le. Reb Shaya’le was a legend in his own times, famed for his superhuman Avodas Hashem.

Jan 13, 2021 · Reb Shaya’la of Kerestir is attributed a virtue for guarding against mice, which is why in many homes it is customary to hang his picture. But most of all, Reb Shaya’la is known for his great devotion to hospitality and caring for the needy.

Reb Shayla was a source of inspiration and guidance for many, and his legacy lives on through the countless individuals whose lives he touched. On this yertziet, we join with those from all over the world to pay tribute to Reb Shayla and the impact he had on so many.

Affectionately known as Reb Shaya'le (Rabbi Yeshaya Steiner of Kerestir), the Kerestirer Rebbe lived around the beginning of the 20th Century. He was a very pious man and extremely humble, always referring to himself in the diminutive (Shaya'le). He was known as a "miraculous" person.

Mar 31, 2022 · Reb Shayele of Kerestir passed away on April 27, 1925. Thousands of hassidim and followers converge on his burial place each year in Bodrogkerestir.

R’ Shayale zy”a was a malach hamoshea for every broken heart. With his own two hands, he would serve and feed the tired and starving Yidden who arrived in Kerestir. Nearly 100 years later, Yidden arrived from all corners of Eretz Yisroel to partake in the Rav Lehoshia food distribution.

The small town of Kerestir, Hungary becomes the focal point of an annual pilgrimage of thousands of followers and descendants of the town’s most famous resident, Reb Shaya’le of Kerestir. Everyone wants to connect to the Tzadik and latch on to his merit on this most auspicious day, the anniversary of his passing on the 3rd of Iyar.
