Oct 9, 2018 · The MI set, front and rear, weigh 2.6 ounces, compared to a TROY front/rear dual aperture standard size BUIS set which weighs 3.1 ounces. The TROY is mostly aluminum with steel adjustment and clamp screws while the MI is aluminum in the base but uses steel posts, front and rear, along with steel clamp screws and adjustment screws.
Best BUIS > Optics, Mounts, and Sights > AR15.COM
Jul 8, 2018 · Best rear sight for the money is Matech. Built tough (made of steel) and can be had for $40-50 in the EE. LWRC skirmish sights are pretty neat and ~$150 for the pair.
What tier? Rear BUIS in front of red dot? - AR15.COM
Aug 22, 2015 · I guess the larger aperture would be OK. I'd think if that set up becomes more popular a standard rifle sight or even the Ashley Express rear would be best suited to quick pick up. I understand it could work at distance but would think a BUIS is going to be most effective and most needed under 100 yards rather than shooting tiny groups at 500.
Best solution to BUIS after ACOG Installation - AR15.COM
Jan 8, 2012 · Otherwise, I have seen folks mount their rear sight in front of the ACOG and zero in that position. As stated, get one of the quick release mounts for the ACOG, so that in the event you need to use the BUIS, you can remove the optic. With the BUIS in front, you should only be using it in the event the ACOG is inoperable for some reason.
Rear BUIS for F marked front sight. - AR15.COM
May 15, 2009 · I would recommend the folding BUIS type so if you get a magnified optics later on you don't have to sell your fixed BUIS for a folding one. If you want a military style BUIS take a look at the Matech, KAC, and ARMS, etc., the ones with the lower folded heights are the KAC and the ARMS model # 40L. Raising the rear BUIS, what to do about the front? - AR15.COM
Jan 28, 2014 · 1. The change wouldn't make it easier to fit both the magnifier and red dot on the upper receiver. It wouldn't even let me move the red dot further back. In fact, even if I got rid of the rear BUIS entirely, and put the magnifier mount in the first slot on the rail, its still just a teensy bit too long to fit on the upper receiver. 2.
In search of low profile rear BUIS - AR15.COM
Mar 12, 2017 · The flip cap is in contact with the sight and doesn't clear it freely. I see two options, different Flip cap, or a lower profile rear flip up sight. I'd like to keep the Vortex flip cap on the eyepiece (the objective flip cap is a different matter), so have been researching rear sights.
M16a1 front sight post and rear BUIS > AR Basics - AR15.COM
Oct 23, 2021 · Most (all?) rear BUIS’s will have been designed with the M4 sight height in mind, so there’s probably not much to be done there, except maybe getting one that’s adjustable for elevation. You can always raise the height of the front post by unscrewing it, but at some point the sight picture will become a bit odd, with the flange sitting up ...
Fixed Front Sight + Flip-Up Rear as BUIS? Suggestions? - AR15.COM
Apr 15, 2021 · First rifle w/o a FSB for me and I have it mocked up with a PA 1-6x LPVO, MBUS Pro Front / MBUS Polymer Rear. I just bought an Aimpoint Pro to replace the LPVO and plan to take it off to shoot irons occasionally. I don't think I want full-time co-witness with a fixed rear sight but I do want something nicer than the polymer MBUS in the rear.
KAC 300 or 600 Micro Flip rear Buis - AR15.COM
May 18, 2011 · It doesn't matter. It works like the two different apertures on a typical A2-style rear sight. The 300m aperture is a smaller hole for more precise shots while the 0-200m aperture is for closer shots. You would always want to zero with the 300m aperture since it's a more precise shot. I figure the same would go for this sight.
