The TCCC guidelines are a set of evidence-based best practice guidelines for battlefield trauma care that have been developed over more than 18 years of war. Oversight of the TCCC guidelines is provided by the CoTCCC, which continually update them.

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is developed by the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency (DHA) Joint Trauma System (JTS) to teach evidence-based, life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care on the battlefield.

TCCC aims to reduce preventable deaths and severe injuries during combat by providing more effective and tailored prehospital care. It focuses on the three main causes of preventable death in combat: extremity hemorrhage, tension pneumothorax, and airway obstruction.

While TCCC has come a long way, and so has combat medicine in general (hell even some of the newest DHA TCCC videos are quite good quality), nothing can come close to the real thing in demonstrating effective (and sometimes ineffective) practices.
