Answer: I think "PoG", in its use on Twitch, was inspired by the Overwatch "Play Of the Game" system. But regardless of whether it came from Overwatch streamers or not, it's definitely a Twitch thing. Edit: I know Overwatch's was PotG, but looking it up the "Pog" of Pogchamp literally comes from "Play Of Game". Just in a pre-overwatch form.

There's also the level of variety when it comes to how many different emotions can be expressed with this "pog"-esque facial reaction, as well as the level of variation in which it gets used depending on what show you're watching.
