Sintered Reaction-Bonded Silicon Nitride (SRBSN) SRBSN is a development on RBSN aimed at reducing the final porosity of the product and therefore improving its mechanical properties (see below). This is achieved by adding sintering additives to the starting powder mix which allows the material to be sintered after the reaction-bonding stage.
