Condition well shortbow, i love the shortbow but i am not a fan of conditions, still one of my fav weapons as ranger (i started with it back when it was the weapon to use for everything).

Since you have 4 buttons to use, autoattack, dodge and heal skill will be covered, leaving one button for whatever is needed. Weapons are either longbow or axe, both are ranged and should be comfortable with minimal positioning.

Feb 20, 2019 · Axe uses axe 3 which is why the dmg with all 3 weapons comes close for power SB. TLDR: Max dmg/cleave under optimal conditions, use sword. If you need quickness, help with boon uptime, or forward mobility, MH dagger is better when you toss in dagger 3. Similarly, use axe for ranged pressure and better might generation.

Dec 13, 2017 · For me the sword always seemed a defensive weapon while the GS is decided offensive, it provides a great deal of mobility making it easy to flank with any skill. As a ranger I only go melee offensively, if I need to evade I'll use a utility skill. I run a power build, I don't know how the S/X stacks up with a condi build.
