Old OPORDs are a good start, better if they are for the same unit and range complex. Just be sure to scrutinize each line. Don't leave something in it if it doesn't make sense or you don't understand it.

Sep 1, 2017 · Google OPORD Rifle range, there are literally dozens of examples. Don't mind the haters, every unit I was in required an OPORD for ranges. Its written down in OPORD format so there is a audit-able record of how the range was organized and served as a quick check that everything that needed to be done correctly was done.

Feb 6, 2019 · When I was a 2LT I ran every CSWQ and IWQ range for the BN (was a great learning opportunity). Appoint a driven NCO to be your Range Safety Officer. Ensure your ammo NCO is intelligent/capable of tracking the ammo YOU are responsible for. Have an NCO with a hotspot and computer in your range tower inputting scores directly into DTMS.

How the range will be conducted. Left limit, right limit, targets, time limits, what to do in case of malfunctions, weapon conditions during range. What to do with weapons if you have to go down range to mark targets. Cover wildlife on the range, fire detail (i.e. a fire breaks out) and cease fire conditions. Everybody is a safety, etc.

Jul 5, 2016 · OPORD 3 is an order for running a demo range, and is much different from the tactial orders. After the range comes your first death by powerpoint classes, starting with environmental. PT in Bravo mod is much more regular, and is student led, strict PRT, planned by your class PT officer.

May 8, 2017 · During my last drill, my section leader requested me to assist the NCOIC (SFC. F) of the qualification range training event for next drill. My Section Leader tells me he needs help on writing an OPORD. In my head, I thought the OIC is supposed to be the one creating the OPORD to give guidance to all people responsible in making the range happen.

Dec 14, 2014 · In school - no. We've seen simple shells of OPORDS for lanes, and a few company OPORDS, but haven't been given an example of a platoon OPORD for a range day. It's pretty different from a lane, and they haven't given us any examples. They gave us the Company OPORD for the range, and I'm flipping it to PLT, but I'm not sure if I've missed anything.

First, all Range OICs must now have their ranges ready no later than 30 minutes prior to the time reflected in their CONOPs, and must call in "Raider Ready" status to Staff Duty.
