RAB8A - Wikipedia
Ras-related protein Rab-8A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RAB8A gene. [5][6][7] The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the RAS superfamily which are small GTP/GDP-binding proteins with an average size of 200 amino acids.
Rab8 - SpringerLink
Jan 1, 2018 · This review presents a synopsis of recent developments on Rab8 function. As detailed in the following sections, Rab8 regulates transport from the trans-Golgi network to the basolateral plasma membrane of epithelia, neuronal dendrites, and the ciliary membrane. Rab8 is required in cellular polarization, cellular signaling and development.
Rab8, a small GTPase involved in vesicular traffic between the
Small GTP-binding proteins of the rab family have been implicated as regulators of membrane traffic along the biosynthetic and endocytic pathways in eukaryotic cells. We have investigated the localization and function of rab8, closely related to the yeast YPT1/SEC4 gene products.
Rab11-Rab8 cascade dynamics in primary cilia and membrane …
Nov 26, 2024 · The Rab11-Rab8 cascade mediated by the Rab8 guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), Rabin8, orchestrates multiple membrane transport processes, but Rab membrane loading and exchange dynamics are unclear. Here, we use advanced fluorescence imaging approaches to characterize Rab11, Rab8, and Rabin8 protein dynamics.
Coordination of RAB-8 and RAB-11 during unconventional protein ...
Feb 5, 2024 · Here, we show that deregulated RAB-8 activity resulted in impaired apical UcPS, which increased sensitivity to infection and environmental stress. We also identified the SNARE VTI-1/Vti1a/b as a new RAB-8-interacting factor involved in the apical UcPS.
The Rab8 GTPase regulates apical protein localization in ... - Nature
Jun 27, 2007 · Here we show that Rab8 is responsible for the localization of apical proteins in intestinal epithelial cells. We found that apical peptidases and transporters localized to lysosomes in the small...
Rab8a interacts directly with PI3Kγ to modulate TLR4-driven
Jul 15, 2014 · We discover that the small GTPase Rab8a is enriched in these ruffles and recruits phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3Kγ) as an effector by interacting directly through its Ras-binding domain....
RAB cascade dynamics of RAB8 and RAB11 in cilia and membrane …
Feb 8, 2024 · Here we investigate the RAB11-RAB8 cascade important in primary cilium assembly and neurite outgrowth, and the associated RAB8 GEF Rabin8. We developed cell lines permitting protein ablation of these essential ciliogenesis regulators enabling monitoring of cascade trafficking dynamics.
A spate of RAB8 - Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology
RAB8 is a small GTPase that has been implicated in various processes, including protein trafficking. Two separate studies in Nature and Cell now link RAB8 to two different human diseases —...
The Rab GTPase Rab8 as a shared regulator of ciliogenesis and ... - PubMed
Rab GTPases, which form the largest branch of the Ras GTPase superfamily, regulate almost every step of vesicle-mediated trafficking. Among them, Rab8 is an essential participant in primary cilium formation.
