Looking online last week for background information on Croydon, I found links to various sites showing versions said to be made in London and Surrey, England as well as Spain, but without photos showing the nomenclature. Then I found a site for a definite Croydon brand from a Dutch carver named Lex Brouwer.

CROYDON MADE IN ENGLAND 035 Condition: 4.25/5 Rim darkening and various dings on the briar (mainly on the rim). The shank has been opened, seemingly with a file, as it is a vertical oval, not round from a drill bit.
