Aug 3, 2023 · Yes I currently own a GTX 1050 ti. But honestly it’s between the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 4060. Where I live the 4060 is currently cheaper than the 3060 ti. So that’s why I basically wanted to know if the difference was really that big but also if it would bottleneck a lot with the Ryzen 7 3700x.

Mar 29, 2024 · Your Ryzen 7 3700X likely isn't bottlenecking the RTX 4060. The fps drops are probably caused by other issues. Check your CPU and GPU temps to rule out thermal throttling. Slow RAM or background processes can also hurt performance. Tweaking in-game settings might help more than upgrading your CPU.

Yes, the 3060 for 1080p is a good sweet spot. There'll be a few more demanding games (Like Cyberpunk) where you might need to drop settings down a little to hit > 60 FPS, but otherwise you should probably be hitting 100+ FPS @ 1080p in most games, so a 1080p 144Hz monitor or so would be a good match for that CPU + GPU combo.

I recently decided to upgrade my GPU from a 3060 ti to a RTX 4070. I'm curious if my Ryzen 7 3700X is going to bottleneck a RTX 4070. I'm eyeballing a Ryzen 7 5700X, but I'm not sure if buying it would make any sense if there's no significant bottleneck with the 3700X.
