Southern Pacific's RSD5's, came in two varieties; branchline/switcher and road/helper service. Road/helper units were setup short hood forward, switchers long hood forward. In 1960, 21 RSD5's were traded back to ALCo to be rebuilt into RSD12's, (or DL-702) only the trucks and miscellaneous equipment was reused.

modeling the SP: A new chassis for an RSD-5
Apr 7, 2021 · I purchased a new Atlas RSD-5 model, with the intent of replacing the new shell, fully louvered, with my old shell. The new chassis is almost identical in shape to the Stewart/Kato one that I had, so this swap does work.
