For the first time in RS history, there is no turbo engine. The RS4 gets an innovative FSI direct fuel injection 4.2-liter, 420-hp V8 engine that hits 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. The FSI purportedly improves engine power and fuel economy at the same time.

It is only available with Audi's Torsen -based "trademark" quattro permanent four-wheel drive system. Its main market competitors include the BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG, Lexus IS-F (formerly) and Cadillac ATS-V (now Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing). [1]
