Jun 12, 2013 · The armor's protection was 2 less than the weapon's piercing value of 4 so the armor is halved once (12 to 6) and then twice (6 to 3). So now it only absorbs 3 points of damage. If the original weapon would have only had an armor piercing value of 2, then the armor would have absorbed it's full 12.

Jul 1, 2012 · In my system armor has an Armor Rating (AR) and Durability (DU). It combines general damage reduction with reduction of structural integrity (quite common system I think). So if a suit of armor has AR 5 and DU 30 and takes a hit worth 10 points of damage the wearer would lose 5 Hit Points and the suit would lose 5 points of Durability.
