Pola was a Zara-class heavy cruiser of the Italian Regia Marina (Royal Navy), named after the Italian city of Pola (now Pula, Croatia). She was built in the Odero Terni Orlando shipyard in Livorno in the early 1930s and entered service in 1932.

The class comprised the vessels Zara, Fiume, Gorizia, and Pola, the last of which was completed to a slightly different design.

I have both, this Zara and the Old Pola 1/350 from Trumpeter. This Zara in NOT an updated Pola but is a completely new tool extremely faithful to the real ship. There is no relation with the old kit.

Jan 20, 2017 · The Pola was the last of the four Zara-class cruisers. She was laid down in Livorno/Leghorn in March 1931, launched in December 1931 and commissioned in December 1932. The Zara class cruisers were considered to be successful ships, having a good balance between speed, armament and protection.
