Jan 26, 2008 · It's a picky point, but Ethernet uses an 8-pin RJ-45 connector. AFAIK the RJ-11 is a physically smaller 6-pin connector used mainly for POTS equipment.

That's normally on an RJ11 or RJ12 style connector with four contacts. However, if it is actually an RJ45 (8 contact) with four wires starting at one side, it's not connected to any standard I've seen?

Feb 11, 2015 · Wiring is the typical mess of solid telco 4-wire the house was originally wired with plus additions from me. on the modem to NI side, no twisted pairs exist, so lots of noise might crossover. The jack where the modem is now is approx. 15 feet from the treadmill.
