Mar 2, 2006 · Current models or for all time? I'd take an old Power 1000, 650 or 300 over anything JL makes. For current models I would probably take JL. I haven't been impressed with the RF amps since the DSM series.

Jan 6, 2023 · If you add another sub (dual 10's) and 75w/ch amps for the RF system, you're closer to the price of the JL. As someone else mentioned, the RF amps are AB not D class so they are less efficient - at loud volumes it makes a big difference to power consumption.

Oct 31, 2012 · As far as the newer JL gear goes, I am a fan of the w6v2 and for what the w1v2's are, they preform rather good as well but are not in the same league as the T1's.

The best sounding system I EVER had/heard was JL Audio speakers (everything from subs to tweeters) with Precision Power (PPI) amps. It had the crispest mids and highs and the deepest/hardest lows; sounded AMAZING.

Jun 20, 2000 · It is generally good to give the JL subs at least their RMS rating. I have a 10w3 and it is getting 450-500 watts. I think if you went with the w3 series you would be ok, though. The Fosgate amps are underrated and you would probably get at least 250 watts per sub.

Mar 5, 2023 · The amp I used is a Rockford Fosgate T500X1br mono amp, it puts out 500W RMS @ 1 Ohm / 300W RMS @ 2 Ohm. The sub is a JL Audio 10" shallow sub (300W RMS @ 2 Ohm). One of the bigger questions (with time consuming research to match) was figuring out how to get the audio signal into the amp.
