The MI 09 (French: Matériel d'Interconnexion de 2009, English: interconnection rolling stock of 2009) is a double-deck, dual-voltage electric multiple unit trainset that is operated on line A of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs.

Le MI 09 (matériel d'interconnexion commandé en 2009) est un matériel automoteur à deux niveaux de type X'Trapolis Duplex, dérivé du MI 2N Altéo, que la Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP) a commandé en 2009 pour remplacer les MI 84 sur la ligne A du réseau express régional d'Île-de-France (RER).

Jul 20, 2015 · MI09 is a five-car, double-decker commuter train operating on the RER A line in Paris, the busiest regional line in Europe. The 100th train in the series was delivered in July 2015, and 40 more trains are expected to be delivered before the end of 2017.

Dec 6, 2011 · The Paris Transport Authority (RATP) has launched the MI09 double-decker electric multiple-units (EMUs) into passenger service on Paris RER Line A. A consortium of Alstom and Bombardier has delivered the first tranche of 60 trainsets under a contract signed in 2009.

On Monday 5th December, Nicolas Sarkozy travelled on one of the new MI09 trainsets built by Alstom and Bombardier for the RER A regional express line. This first trip marked the entry of the new, higher-capacity trains into commercial service.

Feb 12, 2015 · Each MI09 train can carry up to 1,725 people at a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The 110 metres train is composed of five cars, each with three wide doors on each side to optimise passenger flow in stations. Its high-performance electric braking system reduces the train's energy consumption.
