The RCA 630TS television became an immediate hit when it was introduced in 1946, right after World War II. With its large (for the time) 10-inch screen, sleek Machine Age cabinet, and sophisticated electronics, it established a standard for postwar television technology and helped RCA to become a leader in that booming market.
RCA 630-TS - Early Television
RCA announced the 630-TS in October, 1946, at a price of $350, along with the seven inch model 621TS. In November both sets were advertised for sale in five cities. Over the next ten years, hundreds of thousands of these sets were sold. The chassis was sold to other manufacturers, who built their own cabinets.

The RCA 630TS, 10" screen using the 10BP4 CRT, 30 tubes and a 13 channel tuner. Picture quality on these sets is excellent, they have a 4MC IF bandwidth and 4 IF stages. Only drawback is they weigh about the same as a small battleship.

Jan 13, 2008 · There are most likely at least several thousand of them left, because it is well known to have been the first high production TV. Hundreds of thousands of 630's were built by RCA and possibly as many clones. I know of more than 20 working examples.
