Mechanically, the RB24S combines an RB30E head, RB25DE/DET block and RB20DE/DET crank with 34 mm height pistons. The resulting 86 mm × 69.7 mm (3.39 in × 2.74 in) bore and stroke combined to form a 2.4 L (2,428 cc) inline-six engine. This engine used carburetors instead of the Nissan ECCS fuel injection system.
