The BMW R90/6 is a powerful motorcycle, designed to compete in the performance-conscious market of 1974. Basically, the R90/6 is a bored-out, snappy 600cc tourer, but by restyling, adding a front disc brake and several other innovations and features.

This 1974 BMW R90S is a disassembled collection of parts that was acquired as a motorcycle in 1993 by its previous owner, who proceeded to disassemble it and begin refurbishment work. Components include an 898cc opposed twin, a five-speed transmission, a R90/6 frame, Krauser magnesium wheels, bodywork, shocks, a fork, and more.

Mar 14, 2022 · Packing a 67-horsepower, 900cc horizontally-opposed twin and a half fairing, the R90s was a very sporty bike by BMW’s stodgy ’70s standards. The engine got a bump to 9.5:1 compression from the base R90/6’s 9.1:1 and gave those cylinders more fuel and air to compress by inhaling through a pair of 38mm Dell’Orto carburetors.
