Jan 14, 2008 · Acccording to yamaha technical website, The 06-07 is rated at 134 hp. Im sure thats taking into account however they do it, the ram air. The 04-06 R1 was rated by yamaha at 180 hp, but by yamaha at the crank at 172 hp. So maybe that 131 somebody mentioned is at the crank. :werd DOG

Yes, reflashing a 06-07 box will net the same gains it would on the 08+ but it will ALWAYS have weak midrange vs. the 08+. only way to make an 06-07r6 similar in midrange to the 08 is to add 08+ecu,airbox,variable stack v-stacks,tank.
