Oct 15, 2023 · These cards are likely clones. I use a 4 and 2 gigabyte card. The two R4 Revolution cards appear identical, but only one of them works. I've attempted to copy the kernel from the working card to the other one, but it hasn't worked. The second card probably has a different kernel despite having the same name and appearance.

May 14, 2022 · The only "official" r4 card is the original. All others are different cards made by different companies only using the r4 name to make sales. The "best" card you can buy is the Supercard DSTwo Plus. It works on all ds, dsi, and 3ds models, has extra processors for better emulation, and can even play 3ds games.

Mar 25, 2025 · Your card looks like a "genuine" r4i-sdhc. If it isn't, it looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to basically make a clone of a clone, as the r4i-sdhc card is a DSTT clone. Maybe try one of those earlier kernels on another Micro SD just to confirm it is genuine.

I know what firmware my R4i-Gold card can support up to, but I just want to know whether it's worthwhile to upgarde the 3DS firmware itself or not.

Mar 25, 2025 · Anyways, you need to put it on the sd card that goes into the R4. Nothing needs to be in your 3ds' sd card when you don't have cfw. Also I would like to recommend modding your 3ds as that is the only way to get perfect gba support for any game. Well, 99,9% compatibility.
