Jan 30, 2017 · You don't need 33" tires for a street driven Xterra that only occasionally sees dirt roads or mild trails (i.e., 285/75R16). IMO, the optimum tire for your particular application would be an LT265/75R16 "C" load rated AT tire.

Nov 15, 2011 · I had been reading all the wheel posts I could find on how big a tire I could get on a stock xterra as I'm contemplating putting new trires, or maybe new wheels and tires. I guess I was mistaken to think that as long as I clear the magic 33" I'm safe.
Will 285/75/16 fit on a stock height xterra - Nissan XTerra Forum
I run 265/75/R16 in those tires (31.6"). The 285s are over an inch larger (32.8") and will likely rub being closer to 33" vs closer to 32". 32" is the limit without a body lift unless you want to dick around with trimming and wheel spacers.

Feb 13, 2013 · Yes*, your second generation Xterra 2006-2013 will fit 33 in. tires, otherwise known as 285 75 16r. *with a melt mod (link to come) you do NOT always have to melt anything. 285/75R16 KM2's don't need the melt, as they have less than 1mm of contact, and that will "solve itself" within a day or two.
