Jun 29, 2008 · I am getting hydraulic fluid loss beneath the trunk area, but the reservoir for the hydraulics on the top remains full. Is there another reservoir that services the various suspension components? I am getting and occasional warning light on the sport suspension and a warning buzz on hard left turns. This is a 1998 SL600 Sport.

Have faith that a well maintained SL600 will indeed last a VERY LONG TIME. My daily driven 234K mile SL600 exhibits all the above good qualities (not without a bit of work and money) and STILL looks and runs like a new car.

Thanks for the advice ref the low pressure port but of course I was thinking 'driver's side' and realise that you are LHD so I was looking on the wrong side. Finally located it and used a recharge kit to get the a/c going again. I've had the car for 17.1/2 of its 18 years and it's an incredible piece of kit.

May 3, 2007 · My 996 was a published <5 second car, and the SL600 pulled it from a roll. Go search youtube, there is a video of an R129 SL600 hanging right with an E46 SMG M3, which is a published 4.7 second car. And that car was a 1993 with the 4-speed tranny, the newer ones are much quicker. We can go back and forth all day on this.
