How do the s-process and r-process create elements in stars?
Apr 5, 2009 · Where can I get clear explanations of how s-process and r-process works in stars. Diagrams and examples how neutron capture bumps elements up the period table. Which elements are created by either process. Marty
Can iron form via processes like the r- or s-process? - Physics …
Dec 1, 2020 · Hi, I was wondering by what other methods iron can form in stars? Iron can form during silicon burning and i assume it can also form via the beta- decay of neutron rich isotopes around the iron peak? Are these athe only two processes that relate to the cosmogenesis of iron?
Question about the s-process and r-process in stellar evolution
Nov 19, 2020 · Hello I have been reading about the s-process and r-process in star evolution. And one thing i briefly saw mentioned was that both processes generally create higher abundances of elements with even number of protons than odd. It however did not explain why there is a slight bias towards even...
Seeking Information on the R-process - Physics Forums
Nov 21, 2009 · The R-process is much faster and occurs in environments with higher neutron densities, resulting in the production of different isotopes of heavy elements. What are the current methods for studying the R-process? The R-process can be studied through observational data from telescopes, laboratory experiments, and computer simulations.
Does a tree exist if no one is there to observe it? - Physics Forums
Nov 16, 2009 · If any of the people who told you "the tree doesn't even exist if we aren't around to observe it" are physicists, please smack them for me.
Difference between nuclear, particle, and high energy physics?
Nov 18, 2011 · Another thing which is not entirely understood are the nuclear processes which occur in a supernova, the r-process in particular is not entirely understood if I remember correctly. Of course, the formation of heavier elements is a research topic in nuclear physics.
