Apr 12, 2020 · QJ 6998 was among the last QJ Steam Locomotives working on the Daban to Chabuga section of the Jitong Railway in 2005.

Ji Tong Railway No. 6998 is a class QJ built in 1985 by the Datong Locomotive Works for the Ji Tong Railway. It was planned to be shipped to the USA but that plan fell through.

The other loco, QJ 6998, was displaced, first from Hexipu and later from Zhongwei, by new DF4 in the early 1990s. History was destined to repeat itself here by the end of 2005. The DF4 can be regarded as China's standard main line diesel locomotive.

Wake just after 0630, and only 1 steam hauled freight observed on route to Xinlitin (QJ 6885 on oil tanks). A further QJ seen on an engineers train on the outskirts of Tongliao. Meet Peter as planned outside Tongliao station.

Nov 25, 2004 · Decorated QJ 6911 was the regular power for the stopping passenger trains between Daban and Chabuga. What a glorious sight it was, romping up the climb from Yamenmiao on 7 December 2004. Raw Power QJ 6984 and 6891 got underway from Yamenmiao with a long westbound freight.

Jun 29, 2019 · Having hailed its final trains on the Iowa Interstate Railroad over the last weekend, ex China Rail and Jitong Railway QJ Class 2-10-2 No. 6988 has now been taken out of service and has now joined sister QJ 7081 in storage in Newton, Iowa where the locomotive with have its 1,472-day inspection.
