Mar 18, 2010 · To the best of my knowledge, the system is able to seal itself near the canister near the tank, as well as at the purge valve (obviously). It also has a pressure/vaccum sensor at the gas tank. So it can detect if the issue is at the purge valve or whether it's the valve near the gas tank or the gas tank itself. I could be wrong.
