Purandar Fort is a mountain fort in Pune district in Western Indian state of Maharashtra, India. The fort stands at 1,374 metres (4,508 ft) above the sea level in the Western Ghats, 50 kilometres (31 mi) to the southeast of Pune.

Purandar Fort also called Purandhar Fort signifies the rise of Shivaji against Adil Shahi Bijapur Sultanate and the Mughals. It is among one of the famous tourist attraction in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Situated at a distance of 50 kms from Pune, Purandar Fort is the birth place of Shivaji's son- Sambhaji. The fort has two storeys- the upper is called Balekilla while the lower is called Machi. Besides the Shiva temple, the fort offers beautiful panoramic sights of the surroundings.

Purandar Fort is present in Saswad village, 50 km away from Pune, Maharashtra. This is the fortress where the Chhatrapati Sambaji Raje Bhosle was born. Sambaji was the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Shivaji had the first win by capturing this fortress. Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb captured this fortress in 1665.
