Considering the West Side is around 1/3 Puerto Rican... but many are smaller type of establishments that might not be listed on the web. There also might be better options in Lorain. El Kefon (sp?) is a good one on Broadway in Lorain... not sure if it's around still.

PRican food doesnt involve tortillas. and is not spicy hot. corn is also not as prevalent in island cuisine. caribbean food from ex-brit islands involve more curries. There is even good Tex-Mex, believe it or not, it is just that Tex-Mex has been commodified and distributed to the world as a cheap 'fast food' so it has a bad reputation. At any rate, PR food is nothing like Mexican and is closer in ingredients and technique to other Caribbean cuisines, as already noted.

Mar 29, 2013 · And they don't have any of that stuff in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican food is very bland. Coming from CA I did expect it to be like Mexican food. Oh was I wrong. They opened up a Puerto RIcan Mexican place near my apartment and the quesadillas had plantains in them. All the food was sweet and not spicy at all.
