Hillebrandia sandwicensis is an erect perennial herb standing 50–150 cm tall, emerging from shallow, yellowish, tuberous rhizomes. The stems range from glabrous to sparsely pubescent, adorned with long reddish-brown hairs approximately 2 mm long.
