Mar 20, 2010 · This is the first of my three cs 500/501 reels I'm starting to work on. Decided to start a new thread rather than continuing on my corrosion x pro gear one. Must say that this reel is built like a tank for sure.

Jul 31, 2012 · Reel has a larger 3+1 drag capability and 5:1 gear ratio. If I do decide to keep these, I'll probably load them with 80# or 100# braid backing. CS500/CS501/CS550/CS551 - Among my favorites as well.

Apr 12, 2010 · On the CS 500 the studs for the reel seat screwed into holes tapped in the bottom of the frame. Too many anglers were running the stud through the frame into the spool. The CS 501 has a studs which drop into the reel seat from the top, avoiding damage to the spool.

Jan 11, 2010 · Unfortunately the 3.6:1 gears only fit in the 500 series Albie Special and 600 series CS reels. I think the coolest reel of all time would be the PG 280 with low gears in it! Reply

This is a pro gear cs 500 conventional star drag fishing reel in slightly used excellent condition, see pictures. Reel has a gear ratio of 6.1 and is in perfect working condition.
