
Preston Pals - Wikipedia
The Preston Pals — officially 'D' Company, 7th (Service) Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment — were a group of men from the town of Preston in Lancashire, England, who volunteered to fight in France during World War I, and took part in the Battle of the Somme.

About the memorial: Black slate tablet with the crest of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in red and gold at the top. Most lettering in grey, but the words ‘The Preston Pals’ and ‘The Great War/1914-1918’ are in gold. It is at the south end of Platforms 3 and 4 above the exit from the station subway. Recent Memorial. In excellent Condition.
