In a privileged location, at the end of the Charles Bridge in Malá Strana, Kampa Island is considered one of the most beautiful city islands in the world. Kampa Island is an artificial island on the Vltava River, separated from Lesser Town by the “Devil’s Stream” (Čertovka).

The most tranquil part of Prague city centre, Kampa is an ‘island’ bounded by the Vltava and Čertovka (the Devil’s Stream). It was once farmland (the name Kampa comes from 'campus', Latin for ‘field’), but in the 13th century Prague’s first mill, the Sovovský mlýn (now Kampa Museum), was built here, and other mills followed.

On Prague’s biggest island you can picnic with friends, walk its romantic lanes, visit an outstanding museum of modern art, or pay tribute to one of the greatest singers of all time. Kampa is simply a place that you cannot miss!
