Jul 10, 2024 · TO COMBAT all forms of malnutrition, the National Nutrition Council advocates for awareness and support of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) as part of this year’s Nutrition Month celebration.

The PPAN 2023-2028 aims to improve nutrition across all the life stages through strategies such as improving consumption of healthier diets, adoption of positive nutrition practices and increased access to quality nutrition services and enabling mechanisms.

The PPAN 2023-2028 is an ambitious plan as it targets substantive improvements in the so-called triple burden of malnutrition which is consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals particularly in ending hunger and eliminating all forms of malnutrition.

The Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) is the country’s national policy framework which is being developed since 1974. The document is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan, the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and its long-term aspiration, AmBisyon Natin 2040 (The Life of All Filipinos in 2040).
