Pouya Afshar moved to the United States in 2000. He is an Iranian-American artist, educator and animator residing in Los Angeles, CA.

Pouya is a trans nonbinary cartoonist and content creator based in San Francisco, CA. They received their MFA in Comics from California College of the Arts in 2024 as a merit scholar. Pouya currently works as a content creator for Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Pouya Afshar is an alumnus of the California Institute of the Arts' Character Animation program and holds an MFA in Animation and Digital Media from the University of California, Los Angeles. His work as a visual artist has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
