it was built as a japanese spec car, ie set up for right hand drive roads ( rhd headlights and it had jap spec warts with working j spec indicators as warts) and it was converted to rhd, apparently sometime before it got to australia.

Jul 15, 2006 · All RHD 964 cars were converted at the factory from LHD cars. Sounds crazy but its true. So, as long as the same parts and standard of work was carried out by an importer/specialist as Porsche did when producing official rhd models, it should be ok?

Nov 11, 2002 · I thought that there were no RHD 914s... Yep. Crayford converted them for something like $900 for a $4000 car back then for the RHD countries. Very rare. The stick shift stayed in the same place, the deep drivers pocket armrest did too.
