Feb 2, 2024 · Welcome from Central California. Absolutely nothing wrong with a Polytech, though it does have some small issues that are easily fixed. I have 3. Assuming that it's in basically new, unmolested shape, here are some things to be aware of in a Polytech: #1. Op rod spring. Usually slightly undersized. Replace with USGI, or Orion 7 spring.

The general run of the mill side stamped polytech on gunbroker usually goes for around $800 + or - $100 or so depending on round count, stock, finish, etc. So many factors to decrease or increase the perceived value of a Polytech or Norinco here is a short list
Which front sight and flashhider for Polytech? - M14 Forum
Apr 23, 2012 · My buddy has purchased a Polytech M14 without a front sight/flash hider. What do you guys recommend as a replacement that wont break the bank. Also, I heard that the SAE threaded ones will fit on the CHICOM metric barrel threads. Is that correct?

Mar 30, 2023 · There is a Polytech M1a type rifle at $1000. What parts had to be replaced on these rifles ? I seem to recall complete bolt, gas piston and maybe hammer & oprod (those two are a bit foggy in my recall ). A list of parts to replace would help me out in determining if this Polytech is worth messing with.

Norinco/Polytech M14 parts - M14 Forum
Jul 23, 2011 · For the record, you can even use a USGI castle nut on the Chinese barrel. While the Chinese castle nut is metric, there is such a small difference in the thread pitch that the USGI castle nut will easily screw right into place on the Chinese barrel. Both of my Polytech M-14/S rifles have GI castle nuts on them. 7th

Nov 20, 2011 · A couple of years later (after reading all the Chinese bolt scary stories and using a civilian .308 head space ga. set to check the PolyTech out) I bought a H&R M14 bolt from Sarco and installed it myself. I used the magic marker and lapping compound procedure someone posted on this forum about that same time.
