Plover is a town in Portage County, Wisconsin, United States. As of December 2020 the town reported on its website a population of 1,731. [1] The Village of Plover is located north of the town. [2] The unincorporated community of Meehan is located in the town. The unincorporated community of Kellner is also located partially in the town.

Plover is located on the portage between the lower and the upper Wisconsin River. It was the first village and, in 1844, the first seat of government of the present Portage County. The village was platted in 1845, but it was not until 1857 that it was incorporated as a village.
